"I don’t mean to bother, but have you seen my friend around here? He has brown eyes, light brown hair, blonde-ish fur–has the appearance of a human head on a cat’s body.“
“ ………..You…. you can not ask me about anything actually. It’s a uh—- sensitive topic. “
A lie. A simple one too but the best he could come up with right now. She already noticed too much and that was bad. Just like Dib did the first time he bad. Oh dear Tallest he hated it when Humans used to act smarter than they were.
” If you excuse me I am going to cry now. “
"Oh–I’m sorry if I’ve upset you in asking that.“
There were many people that she had met whose lives were made more difficult because of a medical condition, but she never meant any harm in wanting to know about it. In fact, she knew that if he truly wished for it, she could help him.
"I was only asking out of curiosity. I might be able to help.”
✠ — “In which case, do forgive my ignorance. And whim, mostly. It’s quite the abominable act you’re committing, after all.” Not that that held any negative connotations for him, at all.
“Abominable? It’s not the first time I’ve heard what I’ve done called that, but what makes you say such a thing?”
Of course they haven’t. Zim barely ever stopped by to chat with someone unless it was important. And with ‘important’ he of course meant complaining to someone about how terrible Humanity is.
“ So now what? “
“I hope you don’t mind me asking about your skin pigmentation.”
She’d seen stranger than the child standing before her, but upon closer examination, she found more questions arising and desired to reveal the answers. Small, frail, green– Fran just had to know.
“Your tongue is abnormal too– would you mind if I performed a sort of physical on you?”
✠ — “Adorea…? Ah! The walking cluster of bandages, yes?”
“She is more than a ‘walking cluster of bandages’. Besides, the bandages are precautionary–a second protection if any of the zippers break. What brings you here?”
“Really?” This surely piqued her interest, already shifting her attention fully at the woman. “This is the first time I have met a scientist in the flesh! I am nothing compared to you, of course. Then again, I am not a scientist in the first place, there is a big difference between a scientist and a researcher!”
She paused, realizing that she was babbling nonsense once more, before clearing her throat. “Ah, apologies, I tend to be easily excited, as you can see. But to meet a scientist like you, this is truly an honor! Oh, what sort of experiments do you do, I am curious!”
To hear someone becoming so excited over what she did was a pleasant surprise. Most times, people would turn and run away, and if she entered a hospital, she was most times chased out. Just because her creations and creatures may look grotesque to them didn’t mean they weren’t beautiful in some way. Besides, she always managed to save the lives of the people she helped.
“You really flatter me so–I’ve done so many that I don’t even know where I can start. Not too long ago, I had been split in half vertically. Extra organs and body parts were created in the cloning tube and I became two so I wouldn’t be joining damaged organs and making the situation worse. Once everything was restored and replaced, I put myself back together and the other cloned halves were joined as well. I’m sure she’s around here somewhere.”
“Excuse me… when you say ‘experiments’ and ‘phsyical check-ups’… are you a doctor, by any chance? Or a scientist?” Oh, perhaps the accidental lost isn’t so bad after all. Depends.
“I’m a scientist. I conduct experiments and have performed numerous operations to help better people’s lives.”
“Does this mean I am one of the few ones?” Wait, there’s no time for that! “Ah… wait, appointment?”
“Well, yes, but I’ve come to find out most times it’s because they don’t know what this is. Appointments such as physical check-ups, requiring for me to perform some experiments, it depends on what they’ve come for or what I’ve done for them in the past.”
